Face Value:Where Actors And Effects Begin

Andy Serkis plays Gollum

Listen to Bob Mondello (a film critic) and Michele Norris (interviewer on NPR) discuss who deserves the Oscar for best actor here. Is it the actor or the computer animators who digitialise the character? I think it’s hard to choose because they are all  doing alot of work.

I knew that you would enjoy the interview with George Lucas especially since he talked a lot about Star Wars. It was also interesting that when he was starting out in the industry along with other directors who have become famous, they helped each other out with ideas and suggestions.

Thanks for posting this article Ethan. I love that you keep up with what others are thinking in the movie industry.

I agree, depending on the film and level of special effects how much of the character’s excellent performance can be attributed to the actor himself or the special affects crew…
