PIXAR’s A Bug’s Life (Flack’s Review)

HeimlichThis movie is about Flik, an ant who makes inventions but nobody likes them. He and the other ants are forced to get food for the grasshoppers. When the grasshoppers come for food and Flik knocks over a pile of the food, the grasshoppers get mad. The ant colony orders Flik to go to the city so he won’t mess up the food anymore. When Flik goes to the city, he sees a group of circus bugs (not knowing they are circus bugs). He thinks they are warrior bugs because he sees them “acting” out Robin Hood. He wants the warrior bugs to fight the grasshoppers. He brings them back to ant Island with him.

I thought the movie was funny at the end when Heimlich, the caterpillar, got wings but the other bugs had to lift him up because he wasn’t really a butterfly, just a caterpillar with wings.

My favorite character is Heimlich because he is funny. Trivia from Pixar Wiki: Heimlich is based on Eric Carle’s hungry caterpillar.

Flack’s Rating: 4 out of 5

Althoug it is rated G, I would rate it PG myself because there is some mild language and epic battle scenes. It might be scary for some young kids.
